Award to the Artist (Indonesian).
Criteria - To an Indonesian Artist responsible for promoting Malay compositions in Malaysia.

ANUGERAH KEMBARA - MALAYSIAN
Award to the Artist (Malaysian).
Criteria - To a Malaysian Artist responsible for promoting Malaysian compositions in the International arena

OUTSTANDING AWARD (SRI WIRAMA)
This category is not for open judging and the recipient of this award is chosen by the Akademi Council.
Criteria - For outstanding contribution to the Malaysian music industry

BEST ARRANGEMENT IN A SONG
Award to Arranger(s). This category is open also to Foreign Arranger(s) of local compositions.
Criteria: - Must be a Malaysian song composed by a Malaysian
- Creativity
- Suitability
- Quality
- Interpretation of song

SONG OF THE YEAR
Award to Composer(s) and Lyricist(s). A song is eligible if it was first released or if it achieved prominence during the Period of Eligibility.
Criteria: - Melody
- Lyrics
- Musical arrangement
- Must be a Malaysian song composed by a Malaysian
- Must be first released within the period of eligibity

ALBUM OF THE YEAR
Award to the Artist (Malaysian), and the Album Producer(s) if other than the Artist.
Criteria: - Song quality
- Musical arrangement
- Recording and production quality
- Vocal presentation (where applicable)
- 60% Malay repertoire
- 60% composed by Malaysian
- Basic recording must be done in a Malaysian studio
- Mix and mastering allowed overseas
