BEST NEW ARTIST
Award to the Artist (Malaysian). This category is for a new Artist who releases the first recording which establishes the public identity of the artist.
Criteria:
- Image
- Presentation
- Vocal ability
- 60% Malay repertoire
- Must be first album

BEST VOCAL PERFORMANCE IN AN ALBUM (Male)
Award to the Artist (Malaysian). For solo vocal performance.
Criteria:
- Song interpretation
- Vocal technique
- Voice control
- Phrasing
- Intonation
- Tonal quality
- Pitching

BEST VOCAL PERFORMANCE IN AN ALBUM (Female)
Award to the Artist (Malaysian). For solo vocal performance.
Criteria:
- Song interpretation
- Vocal technique
- Voice control
- Phrasing
- Intonation
- Tonal quality
- Pitching

BEST GROUP VOCAL PERFORMANCE IN AN ALBUM
Award to the Artist (Malaysian). Organised duos or group are eligible.
Criteria: - The album must consist of vocal performance by more than one vocalist from the group (collaborations or performances by duets or groups of artists who do not perform together are not eligible)
- Albums that consist of one vocalist should not be nominated in categories 4 or 5
- Song interpretation
- Vocal technique
- Voice control
- Phrasing
- Intonation
- Tonal quality
- Pitching
