Behind every large-scale entertainment event there is one person who ultimately "runs the show ", co-ordinating every aspect and making happen on the night all the planning and rehearsals.

They are usually so good at what they do, they end up in charge every year. Jennifer Thompson, whose real job is General Manager of the Akademi, has brought to the stage the AIM awards show for five years....and each year she vows it will be her last.

Jennifer is no stranger to big shows. Before she was appointed to the Akademi she was known across South East Asia as one of the most efficient, patient and capable Production Managers in the business.

Her technical knowledge is superior to many audio engineers, and her people skills are exemplary. She co-ordinated live recordings of Awie, Search, and Ziana Zain's 'Unplugged', and M.Nasir's Konsert Akar.

Previous gigs include the official launch of Proton Wira, KLIA and the Konsert Suria Merdeka KLCC.

Her official title for the Awards presentation is Production Manager, and she is solely responsible for talent, and leading the team of sound, lighting, staging and broadcasting experts.

Jennifer promises that this year there will be some surprises in format, with the mixing of categories and performances. The mood of the show depends very much on the live music, and the quality, proficiency and enthusiasm of the 'house band'.
