Text Of AIM 2000 Organising Committee Chairman's Speech

The Recording Industry Association of Malaysia (RIM) is proud to announce that the prestigious local music industry awards, Anugerah Industri Muzik (AIM 2000) will be held for the 7th time on the 15th April, 2000.
The annual AIM awards continues in its tradition of being the only local awards that give recognition to music creativity and excellence thus becoming an impetus for those in the music industry to continue to strive for quality.
As in past years, AIM will be brought to music lovers throughout Malaysia by our official broadcaster, ASTRO Ria from Dewan Merdeka, Putra World Trade Centre. RIM extends their heartfelt thanks to ASTRO as this will be the 5th year that we have collaborated in promoting AIM and the music industry.
We would also like to thank ERA who has agreed once again to be our official radio station.
Our gratitute goes out to Concorde Hotel, Kuala Lumpur the official hotel, Combo Mix the official musical instrument supplier, Cyber Music Asia the managers of AIMÍs official website and Ernst and Young who have been the auditors for AIM since its inception.
I feel very fortunate to have been given the mandate once again to be the Chairman of the AIM Organising Committee for the 1st AIM in the new millennium. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce the members of the organising committee:
